Carter to succeed Nelson at top of CSFB Europe

Chris Carter, chairman of global investment banking at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), is to succeed John Nelson as European chairman of the investment bank.

The appointment will fill the vacancy that would have been left by Nelson's departure at the end of the year. Carter will take over the role on December 31. He will sit on the bank's divisional committee and will chair the European executive committee. He will report directly to John Mack, CSFB's new chief executive.
