More than a third of applicants for a top government job leading the Treasury’s work on a potential digital pound were in their twenties or younger, Financial News can reveal.

Some 122 people applied to be the Treasury’s head of central bank digital currency, but 41 of them were younger than 30. At least 12 of those applicants were aged between 16 and 24.
