CBOT profits rise 67% despite Eurex threat

The Chicago Board of Trade, the US futures exchange, lifted second quarter profits 67% above last year despite slashing fees to retain core product trading volumes in the face of stiff competition from Eurex US.

Net income was $16.5m while revenues were up 6% to $102.1m.
