The Chicago Board of Trade, the second-largest US futures exchange, is to float on the New York Stock Exchange in the week beginning October 17.

The Chicago Tribune reports that CBOT chief executive, Bernard Dan, told members at a meeting on Tuesday that the exchange would go public next month.
