CDC moves into debt investing following review

CDC Group, the UK government-backed private equity fund focused on the emerging markets, is planning to plug the financing gap left by banks’ reluctance to lend to new deals by investing in debt, following a strategic review of the firm by consultant McKinsey.

The fund of private equity funds today predicted that debt investments will make up 20%-25% of its entire portfolio over the next five to 10 years.
