CDC takes on Schroder Ventures' chief as non-executive director

CDC Capital Partners, the UK government-funded private equity group, has appointed Andrew Williams, the chief executive of Schroder Ventures, as a non-executive director to its board.

Williams joins CDC Capital during a period of transition. The 60-year old firm, which specialises in emerging markets investments, took on a limited partnership structure that will allow it to open its investor base to third-party funds. It has refocused on risk capital investments in Africa and India, in small to medium-sized companies and power companies. It continues to manage existing investments in other developing markets such as Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.
