CDOs set for record volume in 2001

The volume of collateralised debt obligations (CDOs) is set to reach an all-time high this year, according to Moody's Investors Service, the rating agency.

CDOs are bonds secured on a pool of debt instruments, mainly bonds and loans. Analysts at Moody's said in a new report that the forward calendar of CDO issuance suggests another record-breaking year in 2001.
