Central bankers appoint chairman of CPSS

The central bank governors of the Global Economy Meeting appointed Benoît Cœuré as chairman of the Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems. Cœuré is a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank. Cœuré's appointment is for a term of three years. He succeeds Paul Tucker, deputy governor of the Financial Stability of the Bank of England, who has been CPSS chairman since April 2012.
