CFA Institute sees 18% rise in global exam takers

CFA Institute saw a significant rise in candidates sitting its notoriously difficult exams for would-be fund managers this year, following its drive to meet demand in emerging markets.

The body said on Tuesday that more than 179,000 people sat one of its three test levels in June, up 18% on a year ago. The rise came on the back of strong demand in developing economies, where candidate numbers have doubled in five years.
