CFA Institute sees rise in test takers

Increase comes amid a challenging environment for fund managers globally

There has been a significant rise in the number of candidates sitting the CFA Institute's notoriously tough exams for aspiring fund managers, with much of the growth driven by an uptick in exam takers in Asia.

The body said on January 23 that more than 77,000 people sat its Level One test in December, up 13% on 2017. The pass rate was 45%, similar to previous years.
