Orange, the mobile phone giant, has named Simon Duffy as its new chief financial officer. He succeeds Graham Howe, who is taking on the new position of chief operating officer. Duffy was previously chief financial officer of End2End, the Danish wireless data company, and finance director of EMI, the music group.

Uniq, the food-processing firm, has appointed Martin Beer as finance director with effect from June 1. John Worby, currently deputy chairman and finance director, will retire from the board at the end of the year.
