ChatGPT hype fuels flows into AI funds with biggest lift for Europe-based products

AI and big data funds have collected more new money during the first five months of this year than they did for the whole of 2022

Growing excitement around ChatGPT has prompted a sharp increase in new money flowing into AI-focused funds, with specialist products so far this year more than tripling the amount gathered for the whole of 2022.

Morningstar data, provided to Financial News, shows net flows into AI and big data funds globally topped €813m between January and the end of May, with several of those domiciled in Europe among the biggest winners.
