A former partner at the London arm of Soros Fund Management has re-emerged at Cheyne Capital Management – one of two partner-level hires to the $5 billion-plus alternatives firm's equities team since it rehired capital markets veteran John Hyman as head of equities last September.

Financial Services Register records and a filing made by Cheyne Capital Management (UK) LLP at Companies House on July 23 show that Christopher Mackinson joined the alternatives manager as a partner late last month.
