Chi-X goes live in Japan

The alternative trading system has started trading its first Asian market and there are more launches to come

International trading firm Chi-X Global has taken an important step in its plan to rival some of the world’s main stock markets by completing its first full day of trading Japanese stocks.

Chi-Japan, which is a subsidiary of Nomura-owned Chi-X Global, today began offering trading in five Japanese stocks and outlined its plan to add 800 stocks in the next two months, including the constituents of the flagship Japanese index the Nikkei 225.
