Chris Cummings is no stranger to the spotlight. But when the boss of the UK’s Investment Association appeared on the BBC’s Escape to the Country a little more than two years ago, he wasn’t expecting to be recognised.
“I only went on there on the basis that nobody else would see it,” he jokes. Cummings, who hails from the West Yorkshire mining village of Stanley, was followed by the show’s camera crew as he and his wife searched for a property in his native county. “It was far more fun than I thought it would be, and far less stressful than being interviewed by John Humphrys.”
