Cinven, a UK-based buy-out firm, has hired Roberto Italia as partner and country head for Italy where it will soon open an office, sources close to the firm said.

Italia previously worked at Henderson Private Capital, the buy-out arm of UK-listed fund manager HHG that has suffered a wave of senior defections, including Toby Boyle and Jan Faber, in the past six months.
