Citadel Investments, a US hedge fund manager, is launching a division to provide back-office services to its rivals after hiring a banker to run sales and marketing for the new business.

The firm expects to start marketing Citadel Solutions to hedge fund managers in May. The business is part of Citadel's expansion into new areas and transformation from a hedge fund into a broader financial institution.
