Citigroup, HSBC, JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs are among the large City investment banks to ask employees to return to the office after the UK government rolled back its so-called Plan-B measures for home working.

Citigroup has told its London staff to come into the office at least three days a week, according to a memo seen by Financial News. Meanwhile, HSBC told employees that it would be freeing up more desks in its UK offices over the coming weeks and would be reopening its offices to more staff from 27 January, according to a memo sent to staff.
