Citigroup has named 153 new managing directors within the division housing its investment bank — one of the highest ranks on Wall Street — as firms end a tumultuous year with their annual promotion rounds.

Citi’s class of managing directors is up on the 137 it promoted within its institutional clients group last year. It comes in the same week as UK lender Barclays’ promotions, which increased numbers in its corporate and investment bank from 56 in 2019 to 84 this year.
