Citigroup has hired a top European leveraged finance banker from one of its Wall Street rivals to head up its business in the region.

The bank has named Toby Ali as co-head of leveraged finance in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to a memo sent to staff today by Philip Drury, head of Emea capital markets origination.
