Citi picks politician as top Japan adviser

Citi has recruited a former Japanese finance minister to chair a new advisory council in the country, where it has been trying to bounce back since regulators shut down its scandal-hit private banking arm three years ago.

Masajuro Shiokawa will be chairman of the council, which will advise Citi on aspects of its business in Japan.
