Citi to spend $50bn on green investments

Citi is preparing to invest up to $50bn (€37bn) over the next 10 years in energy saving projects and alternative technology as financial institutions look to take advantage of the growth in environmentally friendly businesses.

In an media conference scheduled for next week, Michael Klein, chairman and co-chief executive of Citi markets and banking, will outline the financial services group's plans for green investing and stress that tackling climate change is a corporate responsibility.
