The poaching battle between Citigroup and Deutsche Bank in Asia has taken a new twist after the German bank hired a new country head for China from its US rival.

Betty Deng Ning joins as chief country officer in China, reporting to Lee Zhang, Deutsche Bank's China chairman, and Colin Grassie, chief executive officer for Asia Pacific outside Japan.
