Schroder Salomon Smith Barney (SSSB) has completed the line-up of its self-proclaimed "boy band" oils research team with the appointment of Peter Lynch, a fund manager from Baring Asset Management, as the fifth man of the team.

Lynch previously worked as an oils analyst at Merrill Lynch with Jon Wright, one of the four analysts hired this week by Citigroup's securities business to replace the seven-man team which defected en masse to Merrill Lynch in June.
