Citigroup elects Liveris to board

Citigroup has elected Andrew Liveris, president and chief executive officer of Dow Chemical, to its board of directors, to help guide and advise on its expansion plans in Asia. His appointment helps the bank meet strict criteria on board directors' independence.

It brings the total number of directors at Citigroup to 17. Over 75% of these are considered independent under New York Stock Exchange rules.
