Citigroup is likely to book around $1bn in restructuring charges this year as the US bank continues to roll out a radical overhaul under chief executive Jane Fraser.

The bank is set to book "a couple of hundred million dollars" in expenses related to its sweeping overhaul unveiled in September in the final quarter of this year, its chief financial officer Mark Mason said at a Goldman Sachs conference on 6 December.
