Citigroup was this morning appointed joint broker to Rexam, the UK packaging firm, alongside Hoare Govett, previously its sole broker. The appointment is the latest in a series of broking re-shuffles since Hoare Govett's former chief executive Nigel Mills and six managing directors quit for Citigroup in the summer.

Rexam did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
