Citigroup has created a new role among its senior ranks - CBO, or chief brand officer. And, if a recently-published list of business super brands is anything to go by, the appointment of Dermot Boden can't come soon enough.

The US banking giant yesterday tasked Boden with leading its brand strategy and ensuring the bank's marketing is effective across the whole of its vast business.
