Citigroup narrows global gender pay gap to 26%

Citigroup has unveiled its gender pay gap for the third year in a row, one of the few US banks to do so

Citigroup's gender pay gap narrowed last year, as the US bank has pledged to promote more women into senior positions to tackle what chief executive Michael Corbat has described as an "ugly" number.

The US bank's median pay for women globally is 74% that of the median for men, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.  This essentially means that women earn 26% less than men on average across the firm as whole.
