Schroder Salmon Smith Barney has poached Johann Blersch, former ING Barings' head of equities in Johannesburg and 30 of his research and trading team.

Included in Blersch's team are 11 ranked analysts. The appointments come as part of SSSB's parent company, Citigroup, tries to improve its portfolio of products and services in South Africa.
