A limit placed on bankers’ bonuses may be scrapped by the government as part of its plans to make the City more competitive after the UK’s exit from the European Union.

Plans to ditch the bonus cap are at an early stage and not yet part of any public consultation, The Times reported on 2 August. The Treasury was contacted for comment.
