City firms fork out £432,000 on hiring Theresa May for event speeches

Banks and professional services firms across the City have spent a total of £431,870 on booking former Prime Minister Theresa May for speeches since she resigned from office in 2019.

Filings by UK Parliament, which track the financial interests of MPs have shown May, who remains the MP for Maidenhead, has earned more than £1.45m in fees from speaking engagements since she stepped down as PM on 24 July 2019.
