City funds risk being silenced in EU trade body reforms

The UK's £8.5tn fund management sector risks being sidelined in a vote on changes to an influential European lobby group, in a move that could significantly curtail City-based asset managers influence over future EU regulations affecting their firms.

The Investment Association, the UK industry's trade body, withheld its vote on proposals put forward at a meeting of members of the European Fund and Asset Management Association AGM, held on 30 October.
