City job numbers slump as Brexit and pandemic hit

City job numbers tumbled last year as the Covid-19 crisis and Brexit forced major employers to batten down the hatches on recruitment.

Large financial services employers advertised 16,335 jobs last year, according to new figures from recruitment firm Morgan McKinley, a drop of 49% on 2019.
