City minister pledges to accelerate the financial sector’s diversity ‘upgrade’

The Women in Finance Charter was launched in 2016 as the government’s flagship initiative for tackling the lack of gender diversity within the City

The City minister has promised to accelerate the diversity agenda of financial firms, after the initiative was put on hold while the government responded to the coronavirus outbreak.

At the launch of third annual review of the Women in Finance charter, on 23 June, City minister John Glen said, “the focus of the Treasury will now resume in terms of the upgrade to the Women in Finance Charter” to tackle some of the “real challenges that still remain” around diversity in financial services.
