The City of London Corporation’s policy committee has agreed on a plan to tackle racism and promote diversity in the Square Mile, as the City continues to grapple with its historic associations with slavery.

Key recommendations from the Corporation’s Tackling Racism Taskforce, which was formed in June 2020, include anonymised recruitment across all grades in the organisation, the appointment of a dedicated senior officer responsible for member diversity and inclusion, and training for key individuals to support BAME staff.
