Compliance experts have slammed prime ministerial hopeful Liz Truss after reports suggested she is considering merging the City's most influential regulators.

The Financial Times reported on 18 August that Truss would order a review of financial services regulators if she bests her rival Rishi Sunak, and has mooted the idea of bringing the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority under one roof.
