Clifford Chance continues attracting star lawyers

Lovells mergers and acquisitions lawyer Jonny Myers and his banking and reconstruction partner Nicholas Frome are due to quit for rival law firm Clifford Chance.

Both are well-known in the M&A arena having worked on a number of high profile deals. Myers, who has particularly strong UK contacts, has a close relationship with Schroder Salomon Smith Barney, advising it on Western Power Distribution's takeover of Hyder (following the sealed bid in competition with Nomura) and on the United Biscuits public-to-private takeover. Frome is known internationally, including close relationships with the heads of corporate recovery at Barclays and HSBC, Terry Bond and Adrian Mariettte. He advised ING on its acquisition of Barings.
