It's rare for the term 'revolving door' to be applied to someone as highly placed as a former US president, but Bill Clinton has perhaps managed it by joining the private equity industry.

Clinton has become a senior adviser to a pair of private equity funds being raised by the Yucaipa Companies, a firm run by his friend Ron Burkle.
