‘Close friends’ will do the City no favours in Brexit talks

The City of London should not expect any "special favours" when the UK and the rest of European Union negotiate the terms of Brexit, think tank New Financial has warned.

The group has compiled a report on what the rest of the EU thinks about the City's post-Brexit role, sifting through more than 200 speeches by European politicians and reports and articles from continental newspapers to gauge sentiment ahead of the start of formal talks, expected later this year.
