France's SG Asset Management has promoted Alain Clot from director general to chairman and chief executive.

His promotion allows Philippe Collas, chief executive of SG Global Investment Management & Services, the division which owns SG Asset Management, to step back from day-to-day operations at the fund manager and oversee SG's fund management, private banking, custody and brokerage businesses.
