CLS plagiarism case deepens

Pereire Tod, the UK broking house that has accused Crédit Lyonnais Securities (CLS) of plagiarising its research, last week alleged that the scale of the offence was much greater than previously revealed.

Marc Pereire, chairman of Mirabaud Pereire Holdings, Pereire Tod's owner, claims that despite minimal co-operation from CLS, his firm has discovered research by its strategy team was reproduced verbatim in at least 18 reports published by CLS between April 2001 and March 2002.
