Some of the world’s largest asset managers have defended themselves against accusations of being “clubby” and siding with corporates rather than backing activist campaigns.

The criticisms were voiced by activists at the Activist Investing in Europe conference, hosted by ArrowCon Partners in London on Tuesday.
