CME Group downplays challenge to swaps rules

The CME Group management has allayed analyst concerns that the Bloomberg suit could delay the migration of swaps to futures

The CME Group, the world's largest futures exchange, has played down the threat posed by a legal challenge to new rules that are widely expected to boost trading of exchange-listed derivatives.

Kim Taylor, president, CME Clearing, said a suit brought by Bloomberg against the Commodity Futures Trading Commission could not succeed because the new swaps trading rules the US data giant hopes to avert are "embedded" in international regulation.
