Michael Cole-Fontayn, executive vice-president and Emea chairman at investment giant BNY Mellon, has been elected chairman of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe trade body, which has also named a senior JP Morgan banker as its vice-chairman.
Cole-Fontayn was voted into the role at Afme's annual general meeting on September 8. He replaces BNP Paribas' Frédéric Janbon, a special adviser to the French banking group's senior management, who has completed his two-year term at the helm of Afme.
