Collins Stewart prepares to demerge by September

Collins Stewart Tullett said it had made an "excellent" start to the year, with trading levels ahead of 2005 and plans on course to demerge the group's stockbroking and inter-dealer broking arms by the end of September.

At an annual general meeting held in London on Thursday, Collins Stewart chairman, Keith Hamill, said trading across both the group's businesses had been "well ahead" of the same stage last year.
