Collins Stewart, the UK stockbroker that acquired a small US investment bank this week as part of aggressive expansion plans, has hired two senior bankers for its equities division.

Phillip Wale joins Collins Stewart as head of trading from Lehman Brothers, while Harvey Robinson, formerly at ABN Amro, joins as a salesman.
