Why women in finance proposals will likely make little difference

A Treasury and Bank of England-commissioned investigation into gender equality in banking by Virgin Money chief executive Jayne-Anne Gadhia issued its final report on March 22, but it is unlikely to make much difference.

Unsurprisingly, the investigation found that the financial services sector continues to be male-dominated; women's careers stagnate in middle management with few reaching board level, and the gender pay gap in financial services (particularly in relation to bonuses) is one of the widest in the UK.
