Commerzbank hires BNP Paribas trading duo

Commerzbank has hired two top debt traders from French rival BNP Paribas to boost its credit team after trading drove investment banking profits last year, contributing a record €1bn ($1.4bn).

Julien Mareschal joins Commerzbank's corporate and markets division as head of trading for asset-backed securities, and David Hoffman becomes a senior trader in the same team. ABS instruments reduce risk by pooling assets.
