Commerzbank seeks €786m injection after €2.2bn loss and dividend warning

Commerzbank is raising €786m ($910m) of new capital after unveiling a net loss €2.2bn for the first nine months of this year compared with a €55m loss in the same period last year. It has written off €2.3bn of investments and will not pay a dividend this year.

The €2.3bn writedown came in the last quarter after the German bank revalued its securities and investments portfolio.
